Project Description

EPI CENTAR International was contracted by UNDP to develop assistance, in close collaboration with the mandated national institutions, as well as regular coordination / communication with multiple stakeholders (municipalities, local farmers’ associations) and other project experts, for carrying out the following tasks:

• Development and implementation of a comprehensive training programme in the agro – ecological farming/smart agriculture responsible for providing training to a selected group of farmers on agro-ecological farming practices through standard and innovative approaches in order to reduce the diffuse source pollution and improve the irrigation efficiency. Besides the regular theoretical and practical/hands-on training, this task involves preparation of the content for an online self-paced training course, decision-support computer/mobile applications and development of storyboards for a series of videos on agro-ecological farming practices.

Providing advisory support services to the implementation of the grant programme – providing a specially designed grant scheme for farmers and implementation of a grant programme through the provision of expertise in the design and monitoring of implementation specific for the agro-ecological farming practices

 Digital irrigation control models to reduce the adverse effects and excessive use of water in agriculture
