Epi Centar International is spearheading the development of the updated Strategic Action Plan (SAP) for the Prespa Park Area, a transboundary region shared by North Macedonia, Albania, and Greece. This project is part of the “EU for Prespa” initiative, aimed at restoring natural resources, enhancing sustainable agriculture, and promoting eco-tourism in the region.
The updated SAP will serve as a guiding framework for cross-border collaboration and sustainable development, addressing critical issues such as declining lake levels, pollution, biodiversity loss, and the impacts of climate change. The plan builds on the successes and lessons learned from previous initiatives while introducing new objectives aligned with current EU and international sustainability standards.
Key activities include extensive stakeholder consultations, field research, and the assessment of environmental, socio-economic, and cultural conditions in the region. The plan will also focus on promoting sustainable practices among farmers, fostering eco-tourism opportunities, and protecting endangered species, contributing to a greener and more resilient Prespa Park Area.
