Within the Project: "National Platform for Women's Entrepreneurship (NPWE)", co-financed by the European Union, Epi Center International prepared a Public Policy Document on the topic "Green Transition of Businesses". The project started its implementation in 2019 and is implemented by the Association of Business Women, the Foundation for Management and Industrial Research and the Macedonian Chambers of Commerce.
The content of this Public Policy is based on information and proposals from the meeting of the sectoral group for Green Transition of businesses, established and held within the Project, as well as research on data, policies, regulations, measures and initiatives to support women entrepreneurs on national, regional and international level, in the area of green transition.
One of the main conclusions that emerged from the research for the preparation of the document is that the green transition of businesses will represent the future of the way for companies to remain competitive through introduction and implementation of sustainable practices. Furthermore, at the national level, small steps can be identified for creations of measures that will contribute for better conditions for the businesses to implement green transition, but there is still a lack of concrete support for the private sector, especially aimed at supporting women entrepreneurs. Based on the wide range of areas in which green transition can be introduced, it is important to be emphasize that businesses from different commercial sectors can implement green transition in different ways and through different instruments. In that regard the document identifies general and sectoral recommendations.
